Good afternoon All,
I would just like to send a special “thank you” note to all the staff and people involved in the Huddersfield carnival who helped me and my team members make our stall a possibility.
The location was perfect and everyone was helpful on the day, as we encountered some transport and equipment problems.
It was a huge success for both my brand The Vinyl Vandals and the Dominic Rodgers Trust Charity.
I want to send special appreciation to Elizabeth Thomas, Rusksanha and Fay, for continued support and contact throughout the whole process.
You all did an amazing job and I hope you are as pleased as we were with the whole day.

30th Huddersfield Carnival Our Biggest Ever…

Huddersfield Carnival is one of the largest outdoor festivals in West Yorkshire for the whole family to enjoy. On behalf of Huddersfield African Caribbean Cultural Trust, I would like to thank all of our sponsors who continue help to make the event such a big success.

Huddersfield Carnival celebrated its 30th year, having grown from one float in the Mayor’s parade to become the largest festival in the Kirklees calendar attracting an audience in the region of 40,000.

Drawing inspiration from the Caribbean, the Carnival provides a medium through which local communities can develop and display their talents in costume design, music, dance and drama.

Last year Huddersfield’s 30th anniversary carnival was celebrated over two days, commencing with the Carnival Royale Show Friday on the 11th July, where contestants competed for the opportunity to lead the Carnival Procession on Saturday 12th July. However sandwiched between these two fantastic events was J’ouvert which began at midnight after the Carnival Royale Show.

Thank you…

We have developed new approaches and thinking for this our event this year which includes a change from the Jouvert to a 'Friday Night Glow' Parade, continuation of the traditional Carnival Parade and a focus on increasing donations and sponsorship from local, regional and national businesses.

In light of the local authority budget cut, we have decided not to pursue an event in Greenhead Park instead will focus on finishing the carnival parade in Huddersfield Town centre and the Hudawi Centre.

We do need your help to raise funds to stage the Friday Night Glow Parade, Carnival Parade and workshops leading up to carnival weekend. Your contribution and much needed support, no matter how small, to pay for some of the following items will be appreciated

We need to pay for costume materials, design and decorating supplies, tutor costs, performance expenses, parade vehicle hire costs, fuel and generators, staging and sound, technical support, refreshments for participants which includes a simple meal and water whilst on the parade, trophies and prizes, room hire, volunteer expenses, crowd barriers, cleansing, event security and stewards staff, marquees hire.

If you are a business why not take a look at our sponsorship packages and contact us to pledge your support or simply click on the link and donate what you can. Your support is appreciated.
