Huddersfield Carnival is one of the largest outdoor festivals in West Yorkshire for the whole family to enjoy. On behalf of Huddersfield African Caribbean Cultural Trust, I would like to thank all of our sponsors who continue help to make the event such a big success.
Huddersfield Carnival celebrated its 30th year, having grown from one float in the Mayor’s parade to become the largest festival in the Kirklees calendar attracting an audience in the region of 40,000.
Drawing inspiration from the Caribbean, the Carnival provides a medium through which local communities can develop and display their talents in costume design, music, dance and drama.
This year Huddersfield’s 30th anniversary carnival was celebrated over two days, commencing with the Carnival Royale Show Friday on the 11th July, where contestants competed for the opportunity to lead the Carnival Procession on Saturday 12th July. However sandwiched between these two fantastic events was J’ouvert which began at midnight after the Carnival Royale Show.

Good afternoon All, I would just like to send a special “thank you” note to all the staff and people involved in the Huddersfield carnival who helped me and my team members make our stall a possibility.
The location was perfect and everyone was helpful on the day, as we encountered some transport and equipment problems.
It was a huge success for both my brand The Vinyl Vandals and the Dominic Rodgers Trust Charity.
I want to send special appreciation to Elizabeth Thomas, Rusksanha and Fay, for continued support and contact throughout the whole process.
You all did an amazing job and I hope you are as pleased as we were with the whole day.
